My Review of The Play The Late Wedding

Going to see The Late Wedding at the Le Fevre Theatre was honestly a really cool experience. Since I am taking acting classes right now, I was paying attention in a different way than I normally would. I was not just watching for entertainment, I was watching to see how the actors did things we practice in class. A lot of people in the cast are literally in my classes, so it was exciting to see them actually perform on stage instead of just doing warm ups or small class scenes. One thing I realized is that acting on stage takes a lot of confidence. The actors had funny moments and serious moments, and sometimes the play got a little weird and dream like, but they stayed locked in the whole time. They changed their voices and body language depending on the character, and they made the scenes feel real. Even when things were unusual, they never broke character. Watching that made me think about how important it is to just commit and trust the story when you are acting.I also liked seeing the stage crew in action. I have classes with some of the backstage people too, so I noticed how hard they were working. They moved props super fast and smoothly, and they made the same pillars turn into different settings like a bar and then outer space. It was really creative and made me appreciate how teamwork makes a show work, not just the actors.Another moment that stood out was when the actors suddenly appeared behind us. We were in the back row, and they ran around the theater so fast that it surprised us. It made the show feel more alive and made the audience feel involved instead of just watching from a distance.Overall, seeing this play made me proud of my classmates and excited about acting. It showed me what is possible when you put in the work and go all in. I left the theater feeling inspired!
